Marie Préaud, born in Nantua, France, is recognized for her sensitive portraits of children. She studied photography in Paris at Speos School of Photography and in New York at the International Center of Photography.

In New York her career took off. There, she started her long-term project of interracial couples and opened her first studio in Tribeca with her husband Horst Hamann. She got regular assignments and worked for publications throughout the United States. Marie is the recipiant of several prestigious awards.

Her work has been exhibited internationally Galleries such as the Light Gallery in New York, University of Southern Maine, The Camp in Aix en Provence or the KunstRaum in Frankfurt have showcased her work. Creative Food photography has become one of her passion. In 2018 “Labor of Love” was published. That body of work was shown at Palais Hirsch in Schwetzingen, at The Camp in Aix en Provence and recently at Speos Gallery in Paris.

Her latest book portraying gardens of Paris (“Gaerten von Paris”) is an hommage to the city where she used to live for ten years before she moved to New York.

 

Marie Preaud, in Frankreich geboren, ist bekannt geworden über ihre inspirierenden und bahnbrechenenden Photographien von Kindern.Sie erlangte einige Auszeichnungen wie beispielsweise den ASMP-NY IMAGE 04.

Preaud studierte Photographie in Paris an der Speos School of Photography und an der International School of Photography in New York City. Sie assistierte Meisterphotographen wie Horst Hamann und arbeitete als Photographin für das „Childbirth Magazine“ in New York. Verschiedene Galerien zeigten ihre Werke, darunter die Speos Gallery in Paris, die Light Gallery in New York, University of Southern Maine, Zero Station und die Kasten Galerie in Deutschland.

In den letzen Jahren sind zwei Bücher von ihr erschienen “Halloween” (Panorama Verlag) und “Paris Patisserie” (Christian Verlag).
